True Foundations Construction, LLC is a Charlotte contractor doing painting, drywall, decks, fences, framing, water damage restoration and handyman work — run on the belief that most people don’t want a miracle, they want somebody who does what they said they’d do.
Why we started
Everybody has
a contractor story.
You know the one. The quote that arrived three weeks late. The crew that vanished for a fortnight in the middle of the job. The invoice that came in two thousand over and nobody could explain why. The phone that just… stopped being answered.
We started True Foundations because that experience is so common people now expect it. They budget for it. They warn their friends about it. And it has almost nothing to do with skill — there are brilliant tradesmen out there running shambolic businesses.
So we built the business first. Written scopes. Fixed prices. A calendar that means something. A phone that gets answered. Then we put good hands on the tools behind it. That order matters, and it’s why the company is named what it’s named.

I’ve been working in the construction industry since 1999, building experience across nearly every side of the business — two of the largest tract-home builders, four custom home builders, large commercial construction companies, and the Charlotte school system.
I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina when I was 12 years old and have called the area home ever since. After the economic downturn in 2008, I made the difficult decision to close my construction company and went to work for one of the largest home builders in Charlotte. That experience gave me an even deeper understanding of large-scale construction, project management, quality control, and what it takes to deliver a successful project.
Today, I’m proud to have reopened my own construction company and to bring decades of hands-on experience directly to our clients. We specialize in wood framing, carpentry, drywall, painting, decks, fencing and water restoration — with a strong focus on quality workmanship, clear communication, and doing the job the right way.
Outside of work, I’m married to my beautiful wife, Aly, and together we have four children. Family is a huge part of who I am, and that same sense of responsibility and pride carries into every project we take on.

don’t bend.
Tell the truth early
If your budget won’t cover what you’re describing, you hear it at the walk-through — not once the deposit has cleared and the wall is open.
Price it once
Fixed written quotes. Change orders exist, but they get priced and signed before anybody picks up a tool, every time.
Respect the house
It’s where you live. Covered floors, sealed dust, no radios blasting, no cigarette ends in the flowerbed, swept every evening.
Finish properly
The last 5% of a job is where reputations are made. We walk it with you and fix the snag list before we pack up.

Running multiple trades under one roof isn’t about being a jack of all trades — it’s about removing the seams. The seams are where jobs fall apart: the painter waiting on the drywaller, the drywaller waiting on the framer, and nobody owning the delay.
When one company owns the whole sequence, there’s exactly one person to hold responsible. That’s us, and we prefer it that way.
- Painting — interiors, exteriors, residential, cabinets, ceilings, full prep
- Drywall — hang, tape, finish to Level 5, invisible patching
- Decks — design, permit, footings, framing, boards, rails and stairs, in wood or composite
- Fences — privacy, picket, board-on-board, ranch rail, gates and hardware
- Framing — interior walls, additions, headers, joists, sill plate and structural repair
- Water damage — emergency extraction, drying, tear-out, full rebuild, insurance documentation
- Handyman — the long list of small things, cleared in one visit for one invoice

We’re not a franchise, a call-centre, or one of the storm-chasing outfits that appear after a bad week of weather and are gone by autumn. We live and work in Mecklenburg County, and the jobs we do here are the reason we get the next one.
A warranty from a company that’s still local in three years is worth something. That’s the whole business model.
Straight answers
Things people ask
before hiring us.
Are you insured?
Yes — fully insured, and we send the certificate of insurance out with the estimate rather than waiting to be asked. For commercial and multi-family work we’ll name your entity as additional insured before we set foot on site.
Do you take a deposit?
On larger jobs, yes — typically a third at kickoff to cover materials, with the balance staged against agreed milestones and the final payment due after the walk-through. We don’t ask for a job to be paid in full up front, and you shouldn’t agree to that with anyone.
What if something goes wrong after you leave?
Call us. Workmanship is warranted, manufacturer warranties on materials are passed straight through to you, and we put both in writing on the estimate so there’s no argument about it later. We’re local — coming back is easier for us than arguing with you.
Can you handle a job with several trades in it?
That’s the main reason we run seven trades. A leak repair that needs framing, drywall and paint is one contract, one schedule, one invoice and one person answering for it. No coordinating four companies from your kitchen table.
How quickly can you start?
We get out to look in a timely manner and follow up with the written estimate as soon as it’s ready. Small work and handyman visits often the same week. Larger builds typically book two to four weeks out. Water damage is 24/7 — if water is moving right now, call, don’t email.
