Water damage · Charlotte, NC
Every hour
counts.
Burst pipes, failed water heaters, roof leaks and flooded basements. Extraction, structural drying, tear-out and the full rebuild — plus the documentation your insurer is going to ask for.
Before we get there
Six things to do
in the next
ten minutes.
Stop the water
Fixture shut-off first, then the main at the meter or where the supply enters the house. If you don’t know where it is, find it now — before you ever need it again.
Kill the power — safely
Breaker off to affected rooms if water is anywhere near outlets, fixtures or appliances. Never walk into standing water to reach a switch or a panel.
Photograph everything
Before you move a single thing. Wide shots and close shots, every room, the source, the contents. This is what your claim is built on.
Lift and separate
Rugs up, electronics out, furniture legs onto foil or blocks. Move what you can carry safely. Don’t hurt yourself moving a sofa.
Get air moving
Open windows if it’s dry outside, run the AC or ceiling fans. Helpful — but nothing like commercial drying equipment, so don’t wait on it.
Call us, and call your insurer
In that order if water is still moving. Start the claim the same day — most policies require prompt notice, and delay is the most common reason claims get argued over.
Emergency line
(704) 506-407624 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. If water is moving, call — don’t use the form.
The clock
What water does,
and how fast.
This is why restoration companies talk about hours rather than days — and why “we’ll deal with it Monday” costs so much more than dealing with it tonight.
Minutes
It spreads
Water wicks into drywall, moves along joist bays, gets under cabinets, into the pad beneath carpet and along the subfloor. It travels much further than the wet patch you can see.
Hours 1–24
It soaks in
Drywall swells and loses strength. Furniture legs stain floors. Doors and trim start to swell. Odour begins. Clean Category 1 water starts degrading toward Category 2.
Hours 24–48
Mould can start
In Carolina humidity this is the critical window. Once growth is established the job changes from drying to remediation, and the cost changes with it.
Week one +
Structure suffers
Warped subfloor, cupped hardwood, delaminated cabinets, corroded fasteners, and framing that stays wet inside a closed wall for months.
Categories
Not all water
is the same.
The industry classifies water into three categories, and it decides everything: what can be dried and saved, what has to be removed, and what your insurer will and won’t cover. Any contractor treating a sewage backup like a burst supply line is doing you real harm.
Category 1
Clean water
Where it comes from: Supply lines, water heaters, melting ice, rainwater
Safe to handle at first. Becomes Category 2 within roughly 48 hours as it sits and picks up contamination from building materials.
Category 2
Grey water
Where it comes from: Washing machines, dishwashers, sump overflow, toilet overflow without solids
Contains contamination that will cause illness on contact. Affected porous materials usually have to come out rather than be dried.
Category 3
Black water
Where it comes from: Sewage, ground surface water, flooding from rivers or storm drains
Grossly contaminated. Everything porous it touched — carpet, pad, drywall, insulation — is removed and disposed of. No exceptions.
Causes
Eight ways a house
gets wet.
Our process
From the call
to the repaint.
Emergency response
We take the call any hour and get to you as fast as we can move. First job on arrival is finding and stopping the source if it’s still running.
Assess & document
Moisture meters and, where needed, thermal imaging to map how far the water actually travelled — which is always further than it looks. Photographed and written up for your claim before anything is disturbed.
Extract
Standing water removed with commercial extraction. Saturated carpet pad, and carpet itself where the category demands it, comes out immediately.
Dry the structure
Air movers and commercial dehumidifiers positioned to a drying plan, cavities opened and vented where needed. Readings taken and logged daily until the numbers say it’s dry.
Remove & treat
Anything unsalvageable cut out to a clean line. Antimicrobial treatment where appropriate. Contained, bagged and disposed of properly, not stacked in your driveway for a fortnight.
Rebuild
Framing repaired, insulation replaced, drywall hung and finished, trim replaced, painted. The room ends up looking like nothing ever happened — that’s the whole point.
Insurance
We document it
the way adjusters
want to see it.
We’re contractors, not public adjusters, and we won’t pretend to negotiate your claim for you. What we will do is make sure the paperwork behind it is thorough enough that there’s nothing to argue about.
- Photographic record from arrival, before anything is moved or removed
- Daily moisture logs — readings by room and by material, dated
- Equipment records — what ran, where, and for how long
- Written scope of work in the format adjusters expect
- Itemised rebuild estimate separated from the mitigation work
- Direct communication with your adjuster where you want us to
Water damage questions
Asked and answered.
How fast do you need to be there?
Fast. Water migrates through building materials by capillary action within minutes, drywall wicks it upward, and mould can begin to establish within 24 to 48 hours in Charlotte’s humidity. The difference between a call at 11pm and a call the next lunchtime is often the difference between drying a room and rebuilding one.
We run water damage response 24/7. If water is moving right now, call — don’t email, don’t use the contact form.
Will my insurance cover it?
Generally, sudden and accidental damage is covered by standard homeowner policies — a burst pipe, a failed water heater, an overflowing appliance. What is generally not covered is long-term seepage, gradual leaks you could have noticed, poor maintenance, and flooding from outside the home (that needs separate flood insurance).
We’re not your adjuster and we won’t promise you a payout. What we do is document the job properly so your claim stands up: photographs before anything is moved, moisture readings logged daily, a written scope, and equipment records.
What should I do before you arrive?
Stop the water at the shut-off or the meter if you can do it safely. Kill the power to affected rooms at the breaker if water is anywhere near outlets or fixtures — do not walk into standing water to reach a switch. Photograph everything before you move it. Lift what you can — rugs, electronics, furniture legs onto foil or blocks. Do not use a household vacuum on standing water, and do not go into a flooded basement with the power on.
How long does drying take?
Typically three to five days with commercial air movers and dehumidifiers running continuously, sometimes longer for hardwood, plaster or a saturated slab. We take moisture readings every day and log them — the equipment comes out when the numbers say the structure is dry, not when it feels dry to touch.
Do you do the rebuild as well, or just the drying?
Both, and that’s the main reason to call us. A lot of restoration companies dry your house, pull out the wet drywall and then hand you a hole and a list of contractors to find. We dry it, cut it out, then frame, insulate, hang and finish the drywall and repaint — one contract, one schedule, one invoice.
What about mould?
Small, contained surface growth from a leak that’s been resolved, we can treat and rebuild. Widespread growth, anything in the HVAC system, or a situation where somebody in the house is symptomatic, needs a licensed remediation specialist first — and we’ll say so plainly even though it means handing the work to someone else that week.

Water moving
right now?
Call. Any hour, any day. The first hour matters more than the next five, and we’d rather be woken up than called on Monday.
